UK job exit money

UK leaving a job pay checklist

Leaving work can involve several separate payments: final wages, accrued holiday, notice pay, statutory redundancy pay, settlement sums, and sometimes tribunal compensation. Use this hub to check each part before you sign or accept a final payslip.

Redundancy pay calculator

Just been made redundant? Calculate exactly what your employer must pay you under UK law — based on your age, service length and weekly pay.

Notice period calculator

How much notice are you actually owed? Get the statutory minimum for your length of service — UK and Canada, whichever is greater.

Holiday entitlement calculator

Not sure how much holiday you're entitled to? Get your exact UK statutory leave entitlement — and how much you've accrued so far this year.

Garden leave calculator

Being put on garden leave? Calculate the total pay you're owed for the full notice period while you're kept away from work.

Settlement agreement calculator

Estimate a UK settlement agreement value — redundancy pay, PILON, ex gratia payment, and the £30,000 tax-free threshold.

Employment tribunal compensation calculator

Estimate UK Employment Tribunal compensation — basic award, capped compensatory award, ACAS uplift, Vento bands, and contributory fault reductions.

Payslip deduction analyser

UK payslip analyser: plain-English breakdown of every deduction — income tax, NI, pension, student loan, salary sacrifice — with reconciliation check.

Final pay checklist

  • Outstanding wages through your final day.
  • Accrued but unused statutory holiday pay.
  • Notice pay or payment in lieu of notice.
  • Commission, bonus, expenses, and deductions shown on the payslip.
  • P45 and written breakdown of termination payments.

Before you sign a settlement agreement

Separate the sums: wages and PILON are taxable earnings, statutory redundancy is tax-free, and ex gratia payments may fall within the 30,000 pound termination payment exemption. Take independent legal advice before signing.
